One person was seriously injured in a crash involving a semi tractor trailer in Fond du Lac County. The crash happened shortly before 9am Friday on Highway 26 south of Nietman Road in the town of Waupun. Sheriff Ryan Waldschmidt says the semi was northbound on 26 when it left the road and struck a tree sending debris across the highway. The semi driver was transported to Theda Care Medical Center in Neenah wither serious injuries. Waldschmidt says Highway 26 was shut down between Waupun and Rosendale as crews worked to clear the crash scene.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
