If it seems that there has been a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County every other week this year you are not far off. Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says to date there have been nearly two dozen high speed chases in the county. The most recent chase happened early Sunday morning. Two 17 year old Fond du Lac boys were arrested after speeding 80 miles an hour on Winnebago Drive past Schmitty’s restaurant. Sheriff’s captain Bill Tadych says with a couple weeks left in the year there have been 23 high speed chases in the county in 2021. Tadych says it’s shocking that someone would risk their life and the lives of others because they are afraid of getting caught because they may be revoked or had been drinking. Tadych says it doesn’t pay.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
