A Ripon man accused of sexually assaulting two girls has been been bound over for trial. Probable cause was found at a preliminary hearing for 39 nine year old Brian Martinez on charges of First and Second Degree Child Sex Assault as a repeater. Martinez is accused of sexually assaulting two girls ages 11 and 14 last summer. If convicted the charges carry a maximum sentence of 100 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. Martinez is being held in the Fond du Lac County Jail on $10,000 cash bond.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
