Wisconsin residents ushered in the new year with the coldest temperatures of the season and after a brief respite early this week another cold front will settle in later this week. National Weather Service meteorologist Kevin Wagner says temperatures will be even colder this Thursday and Friday as another cold front moves in. Wagner says strong winds will create dangerous wind chills. Wagner says if you do have to be outside make sure to wear proper clothing to prevent frostbite.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
