Two persons of interest in the shooting death of a Fond du Lac man are in custody on unrelated probation violations. Twenty six year old Benzel Rose was found shot to death October 17 at a residence in the 300 block of 8th Street. The two persons of interest have not been charged in connection with the death. Police Chief Aaron Goldstein says detectives are still conducting interviews and evidence is being processed at the state Crime Lab. Goldstein says the incident remains under active investigation and no further details or information are being released at this time.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
