MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A new report shows Wisconsin's tax burden has increased for the first time in a decade. The nonpartisan Wisconsin Policy Forum released findings Wednesday that show total state and local taxes in Wisconsin grew to $34 billion last year, up 7.1% from 2020. (AP) — An attorney for Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich is asking a judge to impose sanctions on the special investigator leading the Republican-ordered investigation into the 2020 election. 1-6-22 fdl charity club raises money to help child nutrition

The Charity Club, a Fond du Lac nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the health and nutrition of children in Fond du Lac, raised over $96,000 at the 121st Charity Ball on December 3, 2021. The red carpet-themed gala was held at Hotel Retlaw. Net profits will be directed to children and families in the community.  Sixty  percent benefits The Milk Fund and 40 percent benefits local program and project needs.

1-6-22 fdl city council race

There will be some new faces on the Fond du Lac  city council after the April election.  Four challengers, and one incumbent, Donna Richards, are running for four open seats on council.  Incumbents Ben Giles and Arletta Allen are not running for re-election and council president Kay Miller cannot run because of term limits.  Richards supported the controversial alternative master plan at Lakeside Park including building a restaurant near the Park Lighthouse.

1-6-22 fdl school board race

Five candidates are running for four seats on the Fond du Lac School Board.  Brittany Hoerth and Todd Schreiter, who were both appointed to the board last year are running for election along with Antonio Godfrey Sr., Ish Harris and Tim Weddle.   Incumbents Mark Jurgella and Susan Jones are not running for re-election.
