The Fond du Lac School District has announced that Fond du Lac High School principal Matt Steinbarth has been hired for the newly created position of Chief of Schools and Educational Accountability. Steinbarth will begin his new duties next school year and the District will begin a search for a new high school principal in the coming weeks. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says Steinbarth will oversee the day to day operations of schools and the school transformation process in an effort to improve student achievement. Steinbarth has been the high school principal since 2017. The Fond du Lac School Board approved the new position last month as part of an administrative reorganization plan designed to boost student achievement. Dr. Fleig says other positions include coordinators for K-5 Literacy, K-5 Math, and grades 6-12 English Language Arts and Math along with a supervisor of Facility Services and Safety.
