Global tensions are pushing oil prices higher and higher prices at the gas pump follow. State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says uncertainty over Russia’s intensions toward Ukiraine is contributing to higher crude oil prices, which are closing in on $90 a barrel. Jarmusz says higher oil prices will lead to higher pump prices for drivers. The national average for a gallon of gas has risen to $3.37 cents, $3.12 in Wisconsin:

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
