A Fond du Lac man who was convicted of sexually assaulting a child is being released from prison. The Fond du Lac Police Department says Benjamin Solheim is being released February 15 after serving additional prison time for violations of his extended supervision. He will be living at 457 Thomas Street. Solheim was initially released from prison and back into the community in August 2017 after serving 16 years for sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl and Possession of Child Pornography. Solheim is on extended supervision until August 2023. Special conditions of Solheim’s supervised release include no contact with victim, no unsupervised contact with minors, no presence in taverns, bars, or liquor stores, and no use of alcohol or illegal drugs. He also must wear a GPS monitor for the rest of his life.
