A Waupun man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in Fond du Lac County over the weekend. The crash happened shortly before 9pm Saturday at Winnebago Drive west of Prairie Road. The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the striking vehicle, a 38 year old Milwaukee man was traveling westbound Winnebago Drive when he struck a 26 year old Waupun man who was walking on Winnebago Drive west of Prairie Road. The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to St. Agnes hospital with significant injuries. The driver was arrested on suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated causing injury.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
