2-15-22 postal reform act

todayFebruary 15, 2022

Republican congressman Bryan Steihl of Janesville was the only member of  Wisconsin’s congressional delegation to vote against the bipartisan Postal Reform Act last week.  Republican congressman Glenn Grothman voted in favor of the bill which aims  to bring financial reform to the U.S. Postal Service.  The bill requires the establishment of a health benefits program for postal workers and retirees and allows USPS to enter into agreements with government agencies to provide nonpostal products and services, among other provisions.  Democratic Congresswoman Gwen Moore said although the legislation does not address every problem in the postal system, like higher postage rates and slower mail, the bill puts USPS on a better path.
