The Dodge County sheriff’s Office says the driver of a car involved in a crash Friday morning was found dead several hours later almost a mile from the crash scene. Shortly before 7am Friday a sheriff’s deputy found an unoccupied vehicle with minor damage in a farm field by County Highway DJ near Shady Lane. More than eight hours later a resident approximately 2/3 of a mile away from the crash scene reported that there was an unresponsive man lying on the ground. The 32 year old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He was the registered owner of the vehicle involved in the crash.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
