2-22-22 dodge county fatal crash update

The Dodge County Sheriff says the investigation is continuing to determine how a man found dead ended up more than a half mile away from where his vehicle crashed.  Sheriff Dale Schmidt says the unoccupied vehicle was found in a farm field early Friday morning near County Highway DJ and Shady Lane and  the owner of the vehicle, a 32 year old Hustisford man,  was found dead about  a half mile away more than eight hours later.  Schmidt says investigators aren’t sure how the man ended up where he was found.  “It’s hard to ascertain.  A lot of the snow had melted so it’s difficult to really know where this individual would have walked from the scene,”  Schmidt told WFDL news.  Schmidt says at this point investigators are not sure when the crash occured, or if anyone else was in the vehicle for that matter.
