2-24-22 russia-ukraine crisis

A Ripon College political science professor says Russia president Vladimir Putin’s historical view that Ukraine was always part of Russia  is nonsense.  Political scientist Marty Farrell says a similar comparison would be Hitler and Nazi Germany moving on neighboring countries using the same pseudo-historical rationale. “We cannot tolerate countries trying to gobble up other country’s territory.  All the borders of Europe have changed many times over the centuries,”  Farell told WFDL news.  Farrell says Ukraine has it’s own thousand year history that did not come completely under Moscow’s rule until the late 18th century and says Putin’s take on history may be laying the groundwork for war.
