With concerns about unsafe ice conditions in certain areas on Lake Winnebago heading into the sturgeon spearing season  there were no major problems reported during the opening weekend.   Fond du Lac County Sheriff's captain Bill Tadych says there were a couple reporrts of vehicles breaking through the ice in our area, but no injuries. A Reeseville man is going to prison for sexually assaulting a child.  Dodge County Circuit judge Martin De Vries sentenced 48 year old Marcus Statz  eight years in prison followed by 8 years of extended supervision. Statz was convicted of sexually assaulting a 15 year old girl while he was working as a farm hand at a farm in the town of Emmet.

A Waupun man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car in Fond du Lac County over the weekend.  The crash happened shortly before 9pm Saturday at Winnebago Drive west of Prairie Road.  The initial investigation indicates that the driver of the striking vehicle, a 38 year old Milwaukee man was traveling westbound Winnebago Drive when he struck a 26 year old Waupun man who was walking on Winnebago Drive west […]
