2-14-22 couple found dead in west bend park

WEST BEND, Wis. (AP) — Police in the Washington County community of West Bend are investigating the discovery of two bodies. Authorities say an officer on foot patrol found the bodies about 6 p.m. Thursday near a building in Lac Lawrann Park. Police say the man and woman had apparent gunshot wounds and a firearm was found at the scene. An investigation is ongoing.

2-14-22 uw regents approve pay raises for president, chancellors

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The University of Wisconsin System Board of Regents has approved raises for the system president and campus chancellors. The regents approved the new pay plan Thursday. The move gives the president and chancellors a 2% raise. Interim President Tommy Thompson's salary will increase to $499,121 until he leaves office on March 18. 2-14-22 wi court won’t allow drop boxes for april 5 election

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A divided Wisconsin Supreme Court has denied a request from the state elections commission to keep absentee ballot drop boxes in place through the April 5 election for local offices. The court's 4-3 ruling Friday means that after Tuesday’s primary, drop boxes located outside of local election clerks’ offices will be illegal. 2-14-22 fdl man charged with possession of child pornography

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers has signed bills passed by the Legislature enacting new contracts for state troopers, carpenters, bricklayers, electricians and plumbers. The deals Evers signed Friday for workers other than the state troopers cover the previous and current fiscal years. They call for raises ranging from 1.23% to 1.8%. WAUKESHA, Wis. (AP) — A Milwaukee man accused of killing six people and injuring dozens more when he drove an SUV through a suburban Christmas parade is pleading not guilty to multiple criminal charges. 2-11-22 sturgeon season gets underway this weekend
