A Fond du Lac man who was convicted of sexually assaulting a child is being released from prison.   The Fond du Lac Police Department says Benjamin Solheim is being released February 15  after serving additional prison time for violations of his extended supervision.  He will be living at 457 Thomas Street.  Solheim was initially released from prison and back into the community in August 2017 after  serving 16 years for  sexually assaulting a 14 year old girl […]

2-8-22 amazon plans to build distribution center in dane county

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Online retailer Amazon plans to build a $200 million distribution center in Dane County. The Wisconsin State Journal reported Saturday that the company is working with a developer on plans for a five-story, 3.4 million-square-foot facility in Cottage Grove. 2-8-22 job gains

U.S. employers stepped up hiring in January, adding 467,000 jobs despite a wave of omicron infections that sickened millions of workers, kept many consumers at home and left businesses from restaurants to manufacturers short-staffed.  Retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs admits the numbers are surprising.  The unemployment rate ticked up to 4% from 3.9 %.  Job gains in December were also revised much higher.

2-8-22 fire on east 10th street apparently started in a dryer

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A couple from northeastern Wisconsin have claimed $316 million won in a Powerball drawing last month. The Wisconsin Lottery said Monday that Tammy and Cliff Webster split a $632.6 million jackpot from the Jan. 5 drawing with a winner who bought a ticket in California.
