2-3-22 global tensions fueling higher gas prices

Global tensions are pushing oil prices higher and higher prices at the gas pump follow.  State AAA spokesman Nick Jarmusz says uncertainty over Russia's intensions toward Ukiraine is contributing to higher crude oil prices, which are closing in on $90 a barrel.  Jarmusz says higher oil prices will lead to higher pump prices for drivers.  The national average for a gallon of gas has risen to $3.37 cents, $3.12 in Wisconsin:

2-3-22 fdl county board oks salary increase for sheriff, clerk of courts

The Fond du Lac County Board has approved salary increases for the elected  positions of Clerk of Courts and Sheriff.   The Clerk of Courts currently makes $78,792 and will get a 3.2 percent raise next year and 2.5 percent increase the following year.   The sheriff  gets a nearly $8,000 raise to $110,500 with a three percent increase each of the next three years. GRAND PORTAGE, Minn. (AP) — A Wisconsin musher wins his fourth John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon title by a wide margin. Ryan Anderson had a one-hour cushion in finishing the 300-mile sled dog race in northeastern Minnesota Tuesday evening.
