2-1-22 fire destroys shed in town of fdl

An electrical problem  is the suspected cause of a fire that destroyed a shed at a Fond du Lac County residence.  Two goats and six ducks in the shed died in the fire at N5221 County Highway V.   Firefighters were called to the scene shortly before 2:30am Tuesday after a  passerby observed flames and smoke.  The Town of Fond du Lac Fire Department  was able to prevent  the fire from spreading to any other structures.

2-1-22 wi state patrol looking for suspect in high spee chases

The Wiscocnsin State Patrol is asking the public for help in finding a suspect who stole three vehicles that were involved in high speed chases in Winnebago County over the weekend.    The first chase  started shortly after 10:30pm Sunday  on  Interstate 41 southbound in the  area of Breezewood Lane in Winnebago County.  The chase ended when the vehicle exited the Interstate and crashed on County Road GG   near  State Highway 76.  The driver fled […]

The U.S. economy grew last year at the fastest pace since Ronald Reagan's presidency, bouncing back with resilience from 202's brief but devastating coronavirus recession.  The nation's gross domestic product, its total output of goods and services, expanded 5.7 percent in 2021.  Retired Ripon College economist Paul Schoofs says that's good news.  It was the strongest calendar year growth since a 7.2 percent surge in 1984 after a previous recessioin.  The economy ended […]

2-1-22 national railroad museum to feature beer line memorabilia

ASHWAUBENON, Wis. (AP) — The National Railroad Museum in Ashwaubenon has unveiled an exhibit featuring memorabilia from a freight train service that delivered beer supplies. The Milwaukee Beer Line ran north of Milwaukee’s downtown area in 1952. Its three main distributors were Pabst, Blatz and Schlitz.
