3-15-22 Zero Covid-19 hospitalizations in FDL County

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic nobody is hospitalized with the virus in Fond du Lac County.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller says when the first COVID-19 cases were reported in Fond du Lac County two years ago, one of the individuals was in the hospital and eventually became the first person in the state to die from the virus.

3-15-22 bird flu case found in wisconsin chicken flock

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says bird flu has been confirmed in a commercial chicken operation in Wisconsin. The USDA said in a statement Monday that samples from the flock were tested at the Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory and confirmed at the National Veterinary Services Laboratories in Ames, Iowa. 3-15-22 kaul sues johnson controls, tyco over pfas pollution

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin Attorney General Josh Kaul has filed a lawsuit against Johnson Controls and Tyco Fire Products over PFAS pollution in northeastern Wisconsin. Kaul filed the action Monday in Marinette County Circuit Court. The lawsuit alleges Tyco began releasing firefighting foam from a Marinette testing facility into the environment in 1962. 3-15-22 j.m. smucker company sets closing date for ripon plant

J.M. Smucker Company has set a closing date for it's plant in Ripon.  The company has said in a letter to Wisconsin officials that it's Ripon plant will close December 30.  The closure will affect 93 employees.   The company had earlier announced the closure but had  not given a specific date.

3-15-22 platteville fish dealer convicted of selling invasive carp

MILWAUKEE (AP) — A wholesale fish dealer from Platteville has been convicted of illegally selling invasive carp in Wisconsin. Ping Li is the co-owner and sole operator of Li Fish Farm. He was convicted in of two misdemeanor crimes and 17 forfeiture violations under a plea deal. Li was ordered to pay more than $13,000 in penalties, according to the Department of Natural Resources. The Green Bay Packers signed outside linebacker Preston Smith to a contract extension and released outside linebacker Za’Darius Smith and offensive lineman Billy Turner in a flurry of moves before the start of the free-agency period. Nobody was seriously injured and a 32 year old Appleton man is in custody following  a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started shortly after 8pm Saturday when the Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a report of a reckless driver on Interstate 41 southbound near Lincoln Road.    The pickup exited onto Johnson Street and increased it's speed when a sheriff's deputy attempted to make a traffic stop.  The pursuit […]

3-14-22 train vs car crash in fdl

Fond du Lac police are continuing their investigation after a train plowed into an unoccupied vehicle over the weekend.  The crash happened early Saturday morning on the Forest Avenue railroad tracks.  A preliminary investigation shows the vehicle may have been attempting to make a turn when it became stuck or disabled on the tracks.  Police say it is believed the vehicle was unoccupied when it was struck by the train.  Police are still looking for […]
