Nobody was injured in a fire at Fond du Lac's Mercury Marine. Shortly after 1:30am Sunday firefighters were called to Plant 17 and extinguished a small fire caused by spilled molten aluminum from an industrial machine. All employees in the plant and 30 workers in an adjacent facility were safely evacuated. Fire crews worked for about an hour and a half to contain and remove the spilled molten aluminum.
