3-28-22 mercury marine plant 17 evacuated following fire

Nobody was injured in a fire at Fond du Lac's Mercury Marine.   Shortly after 1:30am Sunday firefighters were called to Plant 17 and extinguished a small fire caused by spilled molten aluminum from an industrial machine.  All employees in the plant and 30 workers in an adjacent facility were safely evacuated.  Fire crews worked for about an hour and a half  to contain and remove the spilled molten aluminum.  Dry chemical fire extinguishers […]

3-28-22 vets’ chair ignores evers’ demand to quit over porn charges

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — The chairman of the Wisconsin veterans policy board is refusing to step down in the wake of child pornography charges. Prosecutors in Milwaukee charged Curtis Schmitt in January with three counts of possession of child pornography. He has pleaded not guilty. Gov. Tony Evers appointed Schmitt to the board in 2019. 3-28-22 rolling meadows golf course opens for play

It may have been the coldest opening day in Rolling Meadows Golf Course history...but the 2022 golf season is officially underway.  Holes 10-27l opened for play Friday morning for walking golf.   Rolling Meadows officials say the course is a bit damp in places but in  otherwise great condition for early season golf.
