4-12-22 fdl man charged with setting his house on fire

A Fond du Lac man has been charged in connection with setting fire to his house.  Charges of arson of a building and criminal damage to property  have been filed against Arin Hansen.  Hansen is accused of setting fire to his residence at 11 East 10th Street in October 2020.   When firefighters arrived they found Hansen naked on his front porch screaming that his house was on fire.  The fire caused significant heat and […]

4-11-22 nobody injured in fdl porch fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged the porch of a Fond du Lac  residence over the weekend.  Shortly after 1:30pm Sunday firefighters were called to 284 North Park Aveue where  the resident began to extinguish a fire which was contained to the front porch.  Firefighters believe the fire was caused by improperly discarded smoking materials. photo: fdl fire and rescue

4-11-22 high speed chase

A Fond du Lac man is in custody and was treated for minor injuries following a high speed chase that ended in a crash.  The chase started shortly after 1:30am Saturday when a sheriff's deputy attempted to stop a speeding vehicle at Lakeshore Drive and Kinker Road.   The pursuit ended when the vehicle approached Lakeshore Drive and West Scott Street,  left the road impacting multiple trees.  The driver, a 34 year old Fond du lac […]

4-11-22 fdl water flushing starts monday

The City of Fond du Lac Water Utility has scheduled bi-annual citywide unidirectional water main flushing to begin on Monday.   The flushing will begin in the northeast section of the city followed by the southeast on Tuesday and southwest and northwest Wednesday between the hours of 7:00 am and 5:00 pm.  During hydrant flushing, residents may notice a slight discoloration of water.
