4-7-22 chemical incident at milk specialties forces evacuation of plant and surrounding neighborhood

4-7-22 tornado and severe weather awareness week

Governor Tony Evers has proclaimed this week as Tornado and Severe Weather Awareness Week in Wisconsin.  Fond du Lac County Emergency Management director Bobbie Hicken says this week is a time for residents to prepare for severe weather and tornadoes that occur primarily during the spring and summer months.  Wisconsin averages 23 tornadoes each year.  The National Weather Service confirmed 41 tornadoes touched down in Wisconsin in 2021.  In December of last […]

4-7-22 mixed voter turnout in fdl county

There was  mixed voter turnout for the spring election in Fond du Lac County.   Fond du Lac County Clerk Lisa Freiberg says 26 percent of eligible voters cast ballots in Tuesday's election.  Freiberg says there were higher numbers where there were school referendums and contested races.  But Freiberg says there were some areas where turnout was low even with a contested race...in the District 10 supervisory race for county board as an example.
