The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works says the southbound lane of traffic on Brooke Street between Division Street and Forest Avenue will be closed beginning Tuesday, April 5. The lane closure will be in place through the end of day Friday, April 8. The closure is due to a water main break on Brooke Street.
Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a home in Fond du Lac County. The fire Sunday afternoon destroyed the home at W7128 Phoenix Drive in the town of Friendship and caused moderate damage to two neighboring residences. A malfunctioning small home appliance apparently started the fire.

Fond du Lac County has topped 250 COVID-19 deaths since the beginning of the pandemic. On Friday the Health Department reported six more COVID-19 deaths, including a 36 year old woman. There have now been 251 deaths related to the virus in Fond du Lac County.
Fond du Lac County residents including co-workers and dignitaries are remembering Allen Buechel as a humble leader who will be greatly missed. Funeral services were held Saturday for Buechel who died March 27 from a heart attack at the age of 74.
