5-26-22 local unemployment rate drops

The local unemployment rate is down in April.  The Dodge County unemployment rate fell four tenths of a percent to 2.5 percent.  In Fond du Lac County the jobless rate in April stands at 2.3 percent, down from 2.8 percent in March.  The city of Fond du Lac's unemployment rate dropped from 2.5 to 2.3 percent.

5-25-22 fdl garage fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that destroyed a garage and two cars parked outside the garage in Fond du Lac.  Shortly before 7:30pm Tuesday firefighters were called to a residence at 407 East Merrill Avenue and quickly extinguished the fire which also caused minor damage to the home and a neighboring  garage.  The cause of the fire is under investigation. photo: fdl fire and rescue

5-25-22 fdl city council to discuss bridge to lakeside park west

The Fond du Lac city council will get it's first look at a feasibility study to build a pedestrian bridge connecting Lakeside Park to Lakeside Park West at their meeting Wednesday night.   The cost to build a  210 foot long wood deck bridge is estimated at just over $1.5 million, or $1.6 million for a concrete deck bridge.   The report concludes the project is feasible.  If the council moves forward the next steps would include […]
