The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a public open house this Friday. The open house, will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. The open house will include tours of the sheriff’s office along with short tours at the jail. Presentations will be made by members of the SWAT Team, the Crash Investigation Team and the Recreation Patrol . You will be able to see the inside of a squad car and learn about the lights, sirens and other equipment. Child IDs will be available at no charge. “Back the Badge” signs will be available to purchase for $10 each which raises funds for new gear, uniforms and competition fees for the Dodge County Cadets.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
