A couple of street closures next week will impact Fond du Lac motorists. The intersection of Martin Avenue and 14 th Street will be closed Tuesday and remain closed through Wednesday to allow a utility contractor to install a water main through the intersection. Pioneer Road, south of Johnson Street will be closed to traffic starting Monday, and remain closed through Friday June 17. Pioneer Road from the south will remain open for local traffic and driveway access for all businesses will remain open.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
