The Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition has a new chair. Executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin Debra Cronmiller has been elected to the post. I’m willing to serve. I think it’s a great purpose,” Cronmiller told WFDL news. “I really think that our two missions organizationally align extremely well.” The Coalition was formed in 2017 in an effort to bring gerrymandering to the forefront of state issues. Cronmiller says going forward the organization will expand it’s focus to other issues including fair courts.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
