CROSSLAKE, Minn. (AP) — A researcher trying to understand what's causing a decline in Wisconsin's loon population is expanding his project into Minnesota. Chapman University biology professor Walter Piper has found that Wisconsin's loon population has decreased by about 22% in the last 25 years. 6-10-22 former marquette basketball star george thompson dies

MILWAUKEE (AP) — George Thompson, who played for Marquette from 1967-69 and remains one of the program’s all-time leading scorers, has died. He was 74. Marquette announced Thompson died Wednesday at his Milwaukee home due to complications from diabetes. Thompson scored 1,773 points for Marquette and owned the school’s career scoring record for 40 years. Thompson now ranks fourth on Marquette’s career scoring list. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A federal judge in Milwaukee has dismissed a lawsuit seeking to bar Republican U.S. Reps. Scott Fitzgerald and Tom Tiffany as well as Republican U.S. Sen.
