7-14-22 league of women voters director says supreme court ruling may disenfranchise voters

The executive director of the League of Women Voters of Wisconsin says she is concerned a state Supreme Court ruling will disenfranchise voters in the upcoming August primary and November general elections.  The court has ruled that absentee ballot drop boxes may be placed only in election offices and that no one other than the voter can return a ballot in person.  League of Women Voters of Wisconsin director Debra Cronmiller she’s concerned about people who are disabled or have difficulty with transportation.  The court did not address in its ruling whether anyone other than the voter can return his or her own ballot by mail.
