7-7-22 appleton man sentenced to prison in fatal rollover crash in fdl county

An Appleton man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison followed by ten years extended supervision for a fatal  rollover crash on Interstate 41 in Fond du Lac County.  Samuel Coppersmith was also placed on three years probation.    Investigators say Coppersmith was under the influence of alcohol and marijuana when he lost control of his car on 41 just south of Townline Road.  Two passengers in the vehicle were killed.

7-6-22 dog rescued from lake winnebago was spooked by fireworks

A dog rescued from Lake Winnebago on the Fourth of July has been reunited with it's owner.  The Fond du Lac County Dispatch Center received a call Monday morning of a yellow lab mix wandering near Harbor View Drive and Mohawk Avenue.  Sheriff's captain, Bill Tadych, says  the dog had earlier run away from home apparently scared by the sound of fireworks. 7-6-22 victim of fatal dodge county dump truck crash identified

The victim of a fatal dump truck crash in Dodge County last week has been identified. The Dodge County Sheriff's Office says 67 year old William Vollmer from Iron Ridge was pronounced dead at the scene.    The crash happened last Tuesday afternoon when a dump truck failed to  stop at a stop sign on Dodge County Highway S and Highway  WS  entered a driveway,  crossed over railroad tracks, and overturned.  The  crash remains under investigation […]
