It's been a warm, humid summer in Wisconsin, and the National Weather Service says early forecast models predict that warm weather may continue this fall and into winter.  National Weather Service meteorologist Paul Collar says there is a bit of a signal for a potential for warmer conditions as we go into the fall.  He says there is no real clear signal yet as far as precipitation is concerned.

A popular national chain store for tools is coming to Fond  du Lac.  Harbor Freight Tools says in a press release it is expected to open this fall on North Pioneer Road in the old Best Buy building. Construction is underway.  The store is expected to employ between 25 to 30 people. Nationwide Harbor Freight employs 25,000 people at more than 1,300 locations.

Nobody was injured and law enforcement is still looking for the driver following a high speed chase in Fond du Lac County.  The chase started shortly before 2:30am Wednesday when a sheriff's deputy attempted to pull over a speeding vehicle on Highway 26 near Willow Creek Road in the township of Waupun. The chase continued south onto Hwy 151 into Dodge County, then northbound back into Fond du Lac County where the suspect vehicle ran […]

North Fond du Lac School District voters will decide two referendum questions in November for operations and maintenance and to expand the middle and high schools.  The North Fond du Lac School Board is asking for permission to exceed the revenue limit by 800,000 for three years for operations and maintenance.  A second $18.5 million question would expand Bessie Allen Middle School and Horace Mann High School,  including new classrooms at […]

Fond du lac County officials are considering renaming a county highway after the late county executive Allen Buechel.  The County Highway Committee last week discussed renaming County Highway QQ  Highway AB.  Highway Commissioner Tom Janke says it's not uncomon for county highways to be named after predominant county leaders.  "Allen Buechel is dearly missed and was a figure in the community for 40 plus years in government,  Janke said.  The longtime […]

A Fond du Lac man died after his motorcycle struck a black bear in Montana.   The Montana Highway Patrol says the 66 year old man was southbound on Montana Highway 83 when he struck a bear crossing the highway and was thrown from the motorcycle.  He was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene.  State game wardens found the injured bear and killed it.
