8-10-22 toney defeats jarchow in close race for attorney general

Fond du Lac County District attorney Eric Toney defeated former state representative  Adam Jarchow in a close Republican attorney general primary race.   With more than 98 percent of the precincts  reporting Toney had a little more than 3,400 vote lead.  Toney will face Democrat Josh Kaul in November.

8-10-22 fatal crash-dodge county

One person was killed in a rollover crash in Dodge County.  The crash happened shortly after 5pm Tuesday when the driver failed to negotiate a curve on the northbound state Highway 26 off ramp at state Highway 16.  The female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.

8-10-22 michels wins wisconsin gop gubenatorial primary

Construction company owner Tim Michels has won the GOP primary for Wisconsin governor.  Michels defeated former Lieutenant governor Rebecca Kleefisch in Tuesday's primary election.   He will square off against Democratic governor Tony Evers in the November election.  Michels had the backing of former president Donald Trump.  With 80 percent of the vote counted Tuesday night Michels had a more than 20,000 vote lead or 47-percent of the vote total.

8-10-22 dodge county sheriff wins primary election in a landslide

Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt has easily won his primary election.  Schmidt received more than 75 percent of the vote in defeating challenger Mark Colker in Tuesdayt's Republican primary and will advance to the November election where he is unopposed.  Schmidt received 10,880 votes to 3,620 votes for Colker.  Schmidt was first elected sheriff in 2014 and re-elected in 2018.

8-10-22 inflation impacting new artificial turf football stadium at fdl high school

Inflation has impacted the cost of a football stadium project at Fond du Lac High School.  The school board was updated on the artificial turf stadium project at a workshop session this week.  Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says it turns out the cost to build the bleachers as originally proposed is almost $700,000 more than originally estimated.   Earlier this year the board voted in favor of spending up to $5.3 million for […]
