8-26-22 drive sober or get pulled over campaign

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office is joining other law enforcement agencies across Wisconsin to crack down on drunken driving.  The Sheriff's Office is stepping up patrol during the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign through Labor Day.  Sheriff's  captain Bill Tadych says last year in Wisconsin there were more than 6300 alcohol-related crashes including 166 deaths.  Tadych says four of the eight traffic fatalities in Fond du Lac […]

8-26-22 fdl man convicted in heroin overdose death

A Fond du Lac man has been convicted in the drug overdose death of a Fond du Lac woman.  Forty two year old Robert Harris has been found guilty of first degree reckless homicide.  He faces up to 40 years in prison when he is sentenced.  Police say Harris provided fentanyl that led to the woman’s death at a West Second Street rooming house May 31, 2020.  “Fentanyl and opioids are killing people at […]

8-26-22 serious injury motorcycle crash

A motorcycle crash in Fond du Lac County sent the operator to the hospital with serious injuries.  The crash happened shortly before 9:30pm Wednesday  on Highway 67 and Birchwood Drive.  A 40 year old West Bend man was flown by helicopter to Froedert Hospital with serious injuries.  He was not wearing a helmet.  The Sheriff's Office says  speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.  Investigation showed that the motorcycle was northbound on […]

A nine year old Eden area girl was seriously injured in a farm accident in Fond du Lac County.  Shortly before 3pm Wednesday rescue personnel were called to W3551 Sunny View Road for a report of a large hay bale that had fallen on the child.  The victim was flown by helicopter to Children's Hospital in Milwaukee with serious injuries. A preliminary investigation show that three children were chasing kittens in a barn when two […]
