A Fond du Lac man convicted in the shooting death of another Fond du Lac man is going to prison. Fond du Lac County circuit judge Dale English has sentenced 31 year old Dennell Logan to 35 years in prison followed by 11 years extended supervision. As part of a plea agreement Logan earlier pleaded guilty to an amended charge of First Degree Reckless Homicide in the February 5 2021 shooting death of David Posey. He was originally charged with 1st Degree Intentional Homicide. Investigators say the shooting was drug-related.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
