High winds knocked down trees and power lines throughout Fond du Lac and Dodge counties Saturday afternoon with wind gusts in excess of 50 miles an hour. Power lines were reported down on Metovale Road, Sandy Road and Konow Road. and a tree blocked one lane of traffic on Highway CCC at County Highway G in the town of Marshfield. A HJigh Wind Warning was in effect for much of southern Wisconsin Saturday.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
