A suspect has been arrested in connection with the death of a Fond du Lac woman. Police chief Aaron Goldstein says the 57 year old Fond du Lac man faces charges of first degree intentional homicide and resisting in the death of 51 year old Jacquelyn Jo Rooney. Rooney was found dead Saturday in her East Merrill Avenue apartment. The Fond du Lac County Medical Examiner’s Office performed an autopsy. The cause of death has not been released. A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
