A 67 year old Cambria man was critically injured in a one-vehicle crash near Watertown. The crash occurred about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday as the vehicle was exiting southbound from State Highway 26, toward a roundabout for State Highway 19. The initial investigation showed the man was suspected of being involved in a minor hit and run crash near Juneau and witnesses say was traveling at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crashed. The driver was flown by helicopter to a hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
