11-14-22 gas grill fire damages fdl home

Nobody was injured when a gas grill next to a house in Fond du Lac caught on fire over the weekend.  Shortly after 11:30am Sunday firefighters were called to 116 Chestnut Street to a report of an explosion and fire. When firefighters arrived on the scene the fire had been extinguished by the homeowner.  The fire damaged the grill, propane cylinders, and one soffit section on the exterior of the house. 11-14-22 fdl county board adopts budget

The Fond du Lac County Board has adopted the 2023 county budget.   County executive Sam Kaufman says  the  budget includes a change in the county's  insurance carrier to save money.   Kaufman says the county is switching to Dean Health Care after the current   carrier came back with a 19-percent or $2.4 million increase.  Kaufman says with skyrocketing operational costs the budget reflects the county operating within it's means.

11-14-22 nine cattle die in crash in dodge county

Nine dairy cattle died when a semi-tractor trailer tipped over Dodge County.  The crash happened shortly after 9pm Thursday on the northbound Highway 151 on ramp from Highway 26.  The driver of the  Peterbilt with a loaded cattle hauler pulled onto the shoulder to stop.
