The Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer is offering tips to avoid illness during the holiday season.   Kim Mueller says COVID-19, influenza and RSV are all circulating in Fond du Lac County.    Mueller says as people gather for Thanksgiving,  if you are sick, stay home.  You can give your immune system a boost by maintaining a well-balanced diet,  keeping hydrated by drinking water, getting enough sleep, and not overindulging in alcohol.

11-24-22 safe holiday travel

As motorists head out for the long Thanksgiving holiday area law enforcement is reminding people to slow down and pay attention while driving.  Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Lieutenant Chris Dobyns says deputies will be out in full force.  In Wisconsin more than 1.1 million people are expected to travel more than 50 miles from home during the holiday weekend.

11-23-22 cambria man critically injured in one-vehicle crash

A 67 year old Cambria man was critically injured in a one-vehicle crash near Watertown. The crash occurred  about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday as the vehicle was exiting southbound from State Highway 26, toward a roundabout for State Highway 19.  The initial investigation showed the man was suspected of being involved in a minor hit and run crash  near Juneau and witnesses say was traveling  at a high rate of speed when the vehicle crashed. 11-23-22 opening weekend deer kill up over last year

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin wildlife officials say hunters killed 14% more deer during this year's nine-day gun season's opening weekend than in 2021. The season opened Saturday and runs through this Sunday. The Department of Natural Resources reported hunters killed 103,623 deer over the weekend. That's up from 90,023 deer killed during last year's opening weekend. The annual average opening weekend harvest from 2017 to 2021 was 102,347 animals. […]
