11-17-22 icy roads contribute to multiple traffic crashes on fdl county roads

11-17-22 man who killed six in christmas parade gets life in prison with no release

A man who killed six people and injured many others when he drove his SUV through a Christmas parade in suburban Milwaukee has been sentenced to life in prison with no chance of release. Waukesha County Circuit Judge Jennifer Dorow sentenced 40-year-old Darrell Brooks Jr. on 76 charges, including six counts of first-degree intentional homicide. 11-17-22 fdl woman charged with attempted homicide

A Fond du Lac woman accused of trying to kill her fiance has been charged with attempted homicide.   Twenty two year old Danielle Goodacre has made her initial Fond du Lac court appearance on multiple charges including  domestic-attempted homicide and strangulation-suffocation.  Bail was set at $40,000 cash.  Fond du Lac police chief Aaron Goldstein says Goodacre called the dispatch center early Sunday morning  to report that she had tried to kill her 27 year […]

11-17-22 fdl school district meets expectations in latest report card

Three Fond du Lac Public schools significantly exceeded expectations, three exceeded expectations,  two met few expectations and the rest met expectations in the latest school report card.  Evans,  Rosenow and Waters Elementary Schools all significantly exceeded expectations.  Fond du Lac High School and Chegwin Elementary School met few expectations.  The School District as a whole meets expectations.  Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says the report card is primarly based on last school year.

Thursday  is the annual Great American Smokeout.  The event, sponsored by the American Cancer Society, encourages people who smoke to quit, even if it's just one day.  Fond du Lac County Public Health Officer Kim Mueller while fewer teens are smoking, unfortunately vaping has become a big problem.  The Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line provides free help and medications.  The number is 1-800-QUIT NOW.
