In observance of the New Year’s holiday, and in accordance with Fond du Lac County’s holiday schedule, the county offices in the City/County Government Center, the Sheriff’s lobby/records office, the Department of Community Programs, Department of Social Services and the Veteran Services Office will be closed all day January 2, 2023. The county offices in the City/County Government Center, the Department of Community Programs, Department of Social Services and the Veteran Services Office will close at noon December 30. The Sheriff’s lobby/records office will close at 11:00 on December December 30. The Highway Department will be closed all day on January 2. The Moraine Lakes Consortium call center will be closed all day on December 30, and January 2, 2023.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
