12-28-22 fdl county sheriff’s deputies responded to more than 60 traffic crashes during last week’s winter storm

12-28-22 new waupun wayfinding signs

New decals branding Waupun as the 'City of Sculpture' have been placed on the city's wayfinding signs.    Mayor Rohn Bishop says the signs feature silhouettes of four of Waupun's famous statues and were paid for through donations.  Bishop says earlier this month Department of Public Works Crews placed  the new statue silhouettes on the wayfinding signs throughout the city.   The statue silhouettes replace a crop logo.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — Gov. Tony Evers has picked a county administrator to lead the state Department of Natural Resources. Evers announced Tuesday that he has appointed Sheboygan County Administrator Adam Payne as DNR secretary. Payne replaces Preston Cole, who retired last month. MADISON, Wis. (AP) — A Wisconsin waitress got a $1,000 tip from Christmas morning customer. Twenty-nine-year-old Callie Blue was waiting tables at Gus's Diner in Sun Prairie at 6 a.m. Sunday. She started chatting with one of the few customers in the restaurant at that hour. He left her a $1,000 tip. 12-27-22 garage fire

Nobody was injured in a fire that damaged a garage in Fond du Lac County.  Shortly after noon Monday firefighters from four area departments were called to a residence on Marshvirew Road and quickly extinguished the fire to an attached garage.  The fire is believed to have started from  embers from burning materials outside.   Damage was minor and isolated to the garage area.
