MILWAUKEE (AP) — The city of Milwaukee has joined the ranks of other major cities challenging their 2020 census figures, claiming the once-a-decade U.S. head count which determines political power and federal funding fell 16,500 short of the true population figure. One person is dead and three people were injured in a shooting in Kenosha.  At approximately 8:19 p.m. Monday officers with the Kenosha Police Department and the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of an active shooter  in the City of Kenosha. BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — State and federal officials are warning horse owners not to feed their animals Top of the Rockies brand alfalfa cubes after nearly 100 horses have developed neurologic illnesses and 45 have died or been euthanized. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration issued the warning Saturday. The agency says it’s working with state agriculture departments in Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico and Texas to investigate horse deaths. […]

Lauck seeks to remember the 19th-century Midwest as a place of progress and democratic ideals in a new book called “The Good Country.” In his review, Associated Press’ Stephen Groves writes that the book champions the Midwest. From 1800 to 1900 it formed a bulwark against slavery, fostered education and led the nation with progressivism. But Lauck also acknowledges the Midwest's racial failings in that time period. […]

A fourth person has been convicted of election fraud in Fond du Lac County.   Jamie M. Wells was convicted of misdemeanor election fraud for illegally voting in the November 2020 election.  According to a criminal complaint Wells used a P.O Box address as her residential  voting address, and never lived in the ward where she registered and voted.  The investigation also revealed that Wells did not live in Fond du Lac County despite voting […]
