2022 ended with blizzard-like conditions right before Christmas followed by above normal temperatures last week. National Weather Service meteorologist Taylor Patterson says the new year is starting out with a long range forecast that calls for more above normal high temperatures. “High temperatures in the 20s and low 30s for Wisconsin is normal for this time of year. The temperatures we have been seeing and will continue to see are above normal,” Patterson told WFDL news. The forecast calls for high temps at about the freezing mark through the weekend.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
