2-10-23 winter storm

Some schools closed early and law enforcement responded to numerous vehicle run-offs after a winter storm dumped several inches of heavy, wet snow across southern Wisconsin Thursday.  A Winter Storm Warning or Weather Advisory were in effect Thursday for several counties throughout southern Wisconsin.  Strong wind gusts  in excess of 30 miles an hour made travel difficult.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — An Illinois man has filed a federal lawsuit alleging an off-duty police officer improperly put his knee into his 12-year-old daughter's neck during a fight in a Wisconsin middle school last year. MILWAUKEE (AP) — Police say a Milwaukee police officer was fatally shot early Tuesday during an exchange of gunfire with a 19-year-old robbery suspect who also died from a gunshot wound.
