2-7-23 fdl man arrested for 8th owi

A Fond du Lac man faces charges of OWI 8th offense after narrowly avoiding a crash.  At about noon Sunday the 43 year old man was arrested after a sheriff’s deputy observed  him driving northbound in the southbound lane of county highway D near Brown Road  nearly colliding with another vehicle. The driver was verbally and physically assaultive with nursing staff at St. Agnes Hospital and made threats to harm law enforcement.

2-7-23 eaa airventure-vietnam remembered

The people and aircraift that participated in the Vietnam War will be remembered 50 years after the end of direct hostilities during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh this summer.   EAA spokesman Dick Knapinski says the fly-in convention will include specific programs and activities that involve the aircraft of that period, from all branches of service.  AirVenture Oshkosh will be held July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh.

2-6-23 large scrap pile fire at fdl’s sadoff iron and metal

Nobody was injured in a large scrap pile fire at Sadoff  Iron and Metal in Fond du Lac.  Shortly after 6:30am Sunday firefighters were called to the scene on West Arndt Street and found a large scrap pile of cars and other bulk recyclable materials burning adjacent to their large shredding operation.  The departments aerial truck was used to extinguish the fire while a Sadoff’s equipment operator breaked up the scrap pile.  The materials were waiting […]
