The Fond du Lac Department of Public Works says West Division Street from Brooke Street to Gould Street will be closed starting next week. The closure will begin Monday, March 6 and remain closed for approximately four weeks, weather pending. A private contractor will be boring new communication lines and replacing communication vaults in advance of the West Division Street Bridge reconstruction scheduled for fall 2023. Advance warning signs are currently in place to notify of the closure. Local access
will be maintained to adjacent business.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
