3-22-23 fdl county executive calls for moment of silence to remember allen buechel

The Fond du Lac County executive is asking county residents to observe a moment of silence next week in honor of the late county executive Allen Buechel.    Buechel died in March  2022 from a heart attack.   He was 74 years old.   County executive Sam Kaufman says to commemorate this anniversary he is asking residents to take a moment of silence at 4:15pm Monday March 27th   “To honor Allen’s legacy and his more than 46 years of public service to Fond du Lac County.”    “If you can, please take this time to remember the longest serving county executive in the state of Wisconsin.”   Buechel was first elected to the county board in 1976, and first elected county executive in 1992 and re-elected every term since.
