Groundbreaking ceremonies will be held next month for a new artificial turf football field, and stadium complex at Fond du Lac High School. The ceremony will be held Friday, April 14th. Superintendent Dr. Jeff Fleig says the Fond du Lac school board okayed using money out of the District fund balance to help pay for the project. In December an anonymous donor agreed to match all donations for the project up to $500,000.

A house fire near New Holstein claimed the life of a child. Shortly after 2am Wednesday firefighters were called to the scene on Honeymoon Hill Road near County Road T. A child in the home was pronounced dead at a hospital. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
